One of the greatest gifts we could ever give to our family, friends, co-workers, and even our pets is the gift of presence.
What does that mean? The gift of presence?
You know the typical scenario we can find ourselves in: emails galore, text messages that need to be returned, kids, work, and family obligations that seem never-ending. Sometimes it can all be overwhelming and we have little time to ourselves to think. To be still.
When do we stop to simply BE?
How often do we find ourselves reacting instead of responding to something someone says or does?
Being mindful means being able to recognize when we have been triggered or hooked by one of life’s events. Instead of getting sucked into our automatic way of being, we are able to NOTICE when we’re hooked in at the very moment we get hooked. It is only then that we can insert a pause BEFORE we react.
You may be wondering, how is it even possible to reach that state of being? It may seem impossible - too far out of reach.
A daily mindfulness and meditation practice is the key! These practices are training for your mind to reshape and reframe how to respond to life's events.
With a commitment to our mindfulness practice, responding versus reacting becomes the new normal in all of our interactions.
We would love to help you on this journey toward mindfulness and being present. Consider joining us for one of our in-person or Zoom meditation gatherings or courses or giving the gift of presence with one of our special courses or spiritual coaching sessions to yourself or one of your loved ones this holiday.
