The Art of Mandala

Maggie Kelly

We are excited to welcome honored Tibetan Buddhist monk the Venerable Zawa Tulku Rinpoche back to Satsang House!

In addition to teaching and performing empowerment ceremonies, Rinpoche is also a master of the construction of sand mandalas and ritual arts. Rinpoche will be hand-designing and bringing to life a special mandala during his stay.

For centuries, sand mandalas have been created by using a series of intricate designs and a variety of symbols made from intentionally placed colored sand that can take days or weeks to complete. Once completed, the mandala is destroyed to demonstrate and teach the impermanence of all things. The art of mandala is sacred and very special, you wont want to miss out!

The mandala pictured here is one Rinpoche created during his last visit to Satsang House San Diego in 2018. We absolutely loved hosting him last time, and know that this retreat will be one to remember.

Don’t miss your chance to take part in this extraordinary experience with our highly honored guest!
